Music brings us together. Songs have the power to remind us of our interconnectedness and shared humanity. We live for these moments, where divisions fade and togetherness comes to the light.

Soleil Dakota biography

I was born on the prairie, in a small town surrounded by open fields and endless sky. That sense of space and stillness has been the pulse beneath everything I create as an artist. As a teenager, I picked up a guitar and wrote a few songs that weren’t half bad. I’ve been dreaming about music my whole life, and I knew that if I truly wanted it, I would have to devote myself completely.

Before I embraced my music journey fully, I followed adventure — traveling across the United States. One day, a Dutch hitchhiker shifted my current course. I then traveled to Holland, where I spent three years falling in love with boats and sailing. During my time in Holland, the sea, wooden boats, wind and open spaces created a reinvention.

California soon called my name. By destiny while working at a restaurant, I met the extraordinary Narada Michael Walden—producer to legends like Whitney, Mariah, and Aretha, who opened the door to a life in music I’d always felt was waiting for me. I then collaborated on writing songs for many artists including Diana Ross, Al Jarreau, Ray Charles, Tevin Campbell.

Today, I’m writing and singing from the heart — songs that honor where I’ve been and what I believe in my own voice. My latest release, “We Can Change The World” co-written with my late friend Robert Finney and finished with Grammy-winning producers Bizkit & Butta, is a message of new possibilities and love for these times.

This song is my commitment to hope, a reminder that even in chaos, we hold the power to heal, to rise, to change the world. Our interconnectedness and shared humanity is the key to making the world a better place for generations to come.
